THANK YOU! 🙏🏻🌟🙏🏻

Thank you for joining me on the "14 Day intention Challenge" over the past two weeks. I felt inspired to do this and it gave me a lot of joy and fulfillment to share a part of myself with you in this manner. It is also in alignment with a personal intention I have set for myself going forward, which is: NO HUSTLE! This year I turn 60! My mindfulness practices continue to keep me feeling young in mind, body and spirit, and so age has never been more than just a number to me ~ a number that identifies how much wisdom and life experience one has accumulated. Well, like everyone else, my life experiences have dealt me my fair share of struggles and BIG, BIG, falls! And I've danced with the hustle of perfectionism, people pleasing, armouring up to protect myself from shame and vulnerability, picking up and dropping identities to fit in with the crowds and feel accepted ~ you name it, I've done it! And now, I'm DONE with it! And I'm ever so grateful for this wisdom and guidance from my soul. My intention for this next decade is that of ease and flow, of love and true belonging ~ a belonging that requires holding solidarity to my heart ❤️. So, goodbye HUSTLE! I've served your demons of fear and scarcity for long enough, and now I'm ready to serve my heart. My commitment to myself is that if my choices are not coming from a place of inspiration, service or integrity, I'm not doing it! Care to join me on this NEXT, LIFE-LONG CHALLENGE??!! 😇🎶😇 Connect with me if you’d like support in co-creating your best year yet!

Today I INTEND living with PURPOSE.

This is our last stop along the 14 day "Intention" journey ~ thank you for joining me. I intentionally left "PURPOSE" to the end because it encompasses all the other intentions we have talked about over the last 13 days. Often times my clients will say, "I feel so lost and confused, I don't know how to bring more joy and fulfillment into my life."; "I have a good life but there's this constant feeling of emptiness inside of me, like something's missing."; "I have a good position and my job pays well but going to work each day is like pulling teeth!" Each of us is born with a unique gift that I like to call our "super power". This super power is what we're meant to use to serve the world in our own unique way. When we are using our gifts to serve the world, when we are living in alignment with our values, when there is no efforting involved, when how we've chosen to serve the world energizes us and makes our heart sing, when there is ease and flow in our lives, then we know we are on track with living our purpose. The key is to figure out how we can combine our passions and strengths in service to a cause, person, community, or organization other than ourself. Our purpose is about giving, not getting. I know that may sound counterintuitive, but the more we give from a heart of service, the more abundance we will create in our life!

Today I INTEND PLAYFULNESS.
Playfulness is about having lightheartedness and child-like energy, which is the key to health and creativity. It's the quality of being fun and lively, and eager to play. A playful mind-set invites humour and has the ability to lighten even the most challenging situations or conversations. Imagine a serious meeting where someone cuts the tension with a lighthearted joke ~ everyone laughs, releases some stress and then perhaps there's a greater possibility for a creative solution to the problem. Holding this intention on a daily basis is like making a promise to oneself to not take life too seriously. Not only are we not producing stress hormones like cortisol in our own body, our playfulness is helping lower them in those around us too! Joy, laughter and playfulness are contagious ~ intend them every day and share them generously! They are also a great way to keep people close to us!! :):)

Today I INTEND HONESTY, both with myself and with others.

It's interesting how most often we think of honesty as something we practice with others. What about honesty with ourselves? Most of us were not taught this concept, nor did we grow up having this modelled for us. The biggest lies we tell are the ones we speak to ourselves! Why? To protect ourselves from vulnerability, from facing the truth and from speaking our own truth. Honesty with ourselves is our greatest measure of courage! And if we can consistently practice honesty with ourselves, then honesty with others becomes a natural by-product of this practice ~ unfortunately, the reverse is not necessarily true! Setting this intention on a daily basis helps us show up authentically in all our relationships, especially in the most important one ~ with ourselves!

Today I INTEND OPTIMAL HEALTH in mind, body and spirit.

This intention is a daily reminder of how closely intertwined the connection between mind, body and spirit is. Our emotions and thoughts have a direct impact on the well-being of our physical body. Keeping a close vigil on how scarcity, shame, comparison and our limiting beliefs are creeping into our thoughts is the key to staying in alignment with this intention. When we don't make the time to understand and process our emotions as they come up, and instead brush them away, fooling ourselves into believing that if we ignore our feelings long enough, they'll go away, we invite all kinds of physiological and psychological challenges into our lives. Unprocessed feelings don't go away. Our body keeps score of everything! Our body says you stop shutting down your feelings or I will shut you down ~ the body always wins! Holding this daily intention means we stay connected to our body, police every negative thought and feeling, and make space in our day to process our emotions. It also means treating our body respectfully by giving it nourishing food, exercise and adequate rest, and having some kind of daily mindfulness practice.

Today I INTEND CONSCIOUS CHOICE in all my thoughts, words and actions.
The emphasis here is on "conscious". We make hundreds of choices each day, some big, some small, some with no significant impact, and others with huge impact on ourselves and/or others. Many of us go through life living "unconsciously", in default mode, locked into our victim story, making disempowering choices, which only serve to further reinforce our victim story. Intending conscious choice means being very intentional in the kind of thoughts we are entertaining in each moment (almost policing them! and measuring them against the yardstick of "empowering or disempowering?"). It also means being very intentional in the words we choose to speak to ourselves and to others, and the way we choose to respond to each situation during our day. This intention is key to shaping our own reality, every moment of every day.

Today I INTEND ALIGNMENT between my values and my actions.
Values is one of those nice sounding words that we often use but don't do much work around. While having clarity of our values is the first important step, what's more important is to take daily stock of how much our actions are in alignment with those values. Most of the struggles in our lives originatefrom a lack of alignment between our values and our actions. For example, if I say I have a value for family and then sign up for a job/position that is all consuming, I will create a sense of emptiness, dissatisfaction, and perhaps even failure in my life due to the life/work imbalance I have unconsciously chosen. The daily intention for alignment helps keep us accountable and hold integrity to ourselves.

Today I INTEND a heart of SERVICE.
Service is the ability to look beyond the needs of our ego and focus our attention on the needs of others. This by no means implies a self-sacrificial attitude, nor does it imply people-pleasing, both of which originate from co-dependency! When we help make someone's day a little better, or lighten someone's load, or make the time to truly listen to them, it comes back to us tenfold, in the most unexpected ways. Intending a heart of service and giving the gift of our time and attention to others is more precious and memorable than any material gift we could possibly give. Why? Because it builds connection and trust, and conveys the simple message of "you matter". And as human beings, we all have a primal need to know that we matter, and that we are worthy of love, attention and belonging.

Today I INTEND GRACE & GUIDANCE in all my thoughts, words and interactions.

Inviting Grace & Guidance into our day creates space for that Higher Power to work through us, so that we are co-creating harmonious, loving relationships that keep us in alignment with our values. Leaning into this intention means that when we enter into a conflict or a struggle with someone, we can trust our ability to channel the thoughts, words and actions that will keep us in our integrity, while holding the most generous interpretation about the words and actions of the other person. From this place, forgiveness becomes a lot easier to get to. Once we have set and released this intention, we can move through our day with a greater sense of freedom, confidence and trust.

Today I INTEND an ABUNDANCE MIND-SET.
When most of us think of Abundance, we think of it in terms of what's reflected on our bank statement. Whereas, in fact, abundance has very little to do with how much money we have, how big a house we live in, or what kind of car we drive. Abundance is a mind-set! It is a way of thinking that invites prosperity at all levels (physical, social, emotional, spiritual) into our lives. Our fears (the ego) keeps us trapped in a scarcity mind-set. An abundant mind-set stems from the belief of "enoughness" ~ a belief that we live in an abundant, loving Universe, filled with infinite possibilities, where nothing is being held back from us, a belief that we are worthy of receiving abundance, and a belief that abundance is our birthright!
